Teams can have a ball whatever the weather with training sessions available at The Dell Stadium’s artificial pitch.

                

The quarter size artificial football pitches can accommodate up to 20 people and are available to adult or junior sports clubs or groups of friends.

New paths across a Halesowen nature reserve will link up existing footpaths to complete circular walks around the site.

The wardens at the English Heritage grade 1 registered site have managed the installation of 1,124 metres of footpaths with 260 tonnes of stone.

The improvements will enable people to visit the site all year round. The latest developments are a continuation of the restoration work already carried out at The Leasowes.

Youngsters can keep boredom at bay with a whole host of activities at the Crystal Leisure Centre this summer.

The summer programme, which runs from Tuesday 24 July to Tuesday 4 September, includes gym and play, trampolining and arts and crafts. 

Youngsters, aged five to 11, can try their hand at arts and crafts on Tuesday 24 July and 7 August from 11am till noon. Classes cost £3.60 per child. 

There are one-hour trampolining lessons for beginners running on Tuesday 24, 31 July and 7, 14, 21 August at 10am and 11am and on Friday 27 July and 10, 17 August at 3.30pm. Advanced lessons run on Tuesday 24 and 31 July and 7 August at 12 and 1pm. The sessions are for children aged five to 15 and cost £4.60 per child. 

Trampolining sessions for children aged under five years old run on Tuesday 24 and 31 July and 7, 14 and 21 August from 9 to 10am. Friday sessions run on 27 July and 10 and 17 August from 2.30 to 3.30pm. Sessions cost £4.30 and parents must stay to supervise their child. 

Parents can score themselves a win/win with their children this autumn by giving them the chance to have fun at local leisure centres, while improving their health.

Dudley Council leisure staff are reminding parents that children aged 17 and under can take advantage of the junior lifestyle membership scheme, giving them unlimited access to leisure facilities every day.

 

With more than 200 boat, trade and charity stalls to browse, canal side entertainment, boaters’ competitions, a funfair, real ale bar and regular boat trips along the Dudley No 2 canal, there is always something for everyone in the family.
