A trio of funny women are set to descend on Kingswinford Library next week as part of a Black Country wide reading celebration.
Visitors to the library can enjoy live and funny poetry performed by poets Emma Purshouse, Jane Seabourne and Win Saha on Tuesday May 29 from 7.30pm as part of this year’s big book fortnight which runs until June 2.
Emma Purshouse is known for her poetry performances, while Jane Seabourne is a widely published writer and poet Win Saha writes witty light verses that pack a punch.
The trio are also performing at Warstones Library in Wolverhampton on Monday May 28 at 6pm.
Councillor Khurshid Ahmed, cabinet member for housing, libraries and adult learning, said:
The library is delighted to welcome the trio of funny poets, their visit adds something a little different to this year’s big book fortnight celebrations. Libraries hold a wealth of poetry books and I hope those that come along are inspired to read more poetry or even to have a go at putting pen to paper themselves.”
Tickets cost £3 and £1.50 for concessions and include refreshments.
